TEGRAN, February 25. /TASS/. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says that he told his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov about progress made in Tehran’s negotiations with the European Troika – Great Britain, Germany and France – on lifting sanctions.
“I talked with Mr. Lavrov about all the issues that were raised during the negotiations with the three European countries and explained the whole situation,” Araghchi said during a joint press conference.
Earlier, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that during Araqchi’s visit to Geneva, a new fourth round of negotiations with the European Troika took place.
“We exchanged views on the nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions. Both sides confirmed that they are committed to resolving all issues through diplomacy and negotiations. It has been decided that contacts will continue,” he wrote on his page on the social network X.
In September 2024, Iran resumed negotiations with the European Troika over its nuclear program on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
