Donald Trump calls Zelenskyy ‘disrespectful’ during meeting
Donald Trump has launched another scathing attack on Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming the Ukrainian President “doesn’t want there to be peace”. In a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, the US President had a furious reaction to comments from Zelensky that a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia remains “very, very far away”.
Trump wrote: “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelenskyy, and America will not put up with it for much longer!
“It is what I was saying, this guy doesn’t want there to be Peace as long as he has America’s backing and, Europe, in the meeting they had with Zelenskyy, stated flatly that they cannot do the job without the U.S. – Probably not a great statement to have been made in terms of a show of strength against Russia. What are they thinking?”
It follows his extraordinary argument with the Ukrainian leader at the White House on Friday, during which he and his Vice President appeared to ambush Zelensky with claims that he had been ungrateful for US support.
Trump is reportedly expected to discuss stopping military aid to Ukraine following the bust-up, which cast further doubt on the Republican’s commitment to European security and efforts to prevent further aggression by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

GB News presenters lose it on air in furious clash after Trump and Zelensky row
A tense row erupted between Andrew Pierce and Beverley Turner as they discussed the recent meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, which featured the leaders embroiled in an extraordinary row.
Trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War Three” in a series of testy exchanges, while the Ukrainian leader warned the US would “feel it in the future” if it did not continue to support Ukraine.
After Pierce accused his co-star of being an “appeaser”, Turner launched a scathing rant on GB News.
The 51-year-old began: “We’ve got a lot of old capital established men sitting around and talking about how nothing can change but you know what, it hasn’t worked well for everybody over the years.
“It’s worked well for a small number of people and we’ve got a new coalition in The White House who are putting a big line through that. Call it what you like. Call in the deep state. Call it the military industrial complex, whatever it is.”
Trump suffers humiliating Ukraine backlash as Russia crows ‘US doing our job for us’
A recent poll suggests an overwhelming majority of Donald Trump supporters back Ukraine and disapprove of Vladimir Putin, as a Russian academic praised the US President for doing “our job for us”.
Trump and his Vice President JD Vance launched a blistering attack on Ukraine‘s leader Volodymyr Zelensky in front of the world’s media at the White House on Friday.
Meanwhile, Vitaly Tretyakov, a dean at Moscow’s State University, said on the show ’60 Minutes’: “I really like what he is doing right now… I like his revolutionary approach… He did our job for us that we did not dare to do.”
He added: “He is pursuing policies that are beneficial for Russia. “With respect to Ukraine, he is ready to give Russia everything it wants to take.”
The US leadership did not plan any “ambush” when inviting President Zelenskyy to Washington, US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz said on the weekend.

He made the jibe after Mikey Madison won the Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in Anora, a film about a sex worker who falls for the son of a Russian oligarch.
Following the 25-year-old’s acceptance speech, O’Brien said that Anora was “having a good night” before quipping: “I guess Americans are excited to see somebody finally stand up to a powerful Russian.”
Earlier in the evening, O’Brien took another swipe at the president as he stressed the importance of dressing appropriately for the “prestigious night”.
Trump lays into Zelensky again over peace deal comments in furious rant
Donald Trump reignited his war of words with Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday, claiming the Ukrainian President “doesn’t want there to be peace”.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the US President had a furious reaction to comments from Zelensky that a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia remains “very, very far away”.
The post also contained a link to an article by the Associated Press in which Zelensky’s comments appeared.
Zelensky also said, in comments translated from Ukrainian: “I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it’s more than an occasional relationship,” Zelenskyy said late Sunday, referring to Washington’s support for the past three years of war.
“I believe that Ukraine has a strong enough partnership with the United States of America” to keep aid flowing, he said at a briefing in Ukrainian before leaving London.
It follows Trump’s extraordinary argument with the Ukrainian leader at the White House on Friday, during which he and his Vice President appeared to ambush Zelensky with claims that he had been ungrateful for US support.
Trump is reportedly expected to discuss stopping military aid to Ukraine following the bust-up, which cast further doubt on the Republican’s commitment to European security and efforts to prevent further aggression by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He argued: “I think President Zelensky was very unwise to tell the Americans what would happen to them if they didn’t back him.
“I think it was unwise. Yeah, sure, Vance and Trump bit back. But I think in diplomatic terms, I think Zelensky played it very badly.
“I wouldn’t expect a guest to be rude to me in my own house. Absolutely not. I would expect a guest with respect.”
Shadow Foreign Secretary Dame Priti Patel compared Mr Farage’s comments to Jeremy Corbyn’s attempts to play down Russia’s culpability for the war.

Kyrylo Shevchenko, financier and former chief of the National Bank of Ukraine, warned that companies face shocking increases in leasing and recycling fees.
He wrote on X: “One in three Russian transport companies teeter on the brink of bankruptcy. Skyrocketing costs – leasing fees up 28%, recycling fees soaring 80% – are crushing the industry.

Nigel Farage claimed that Donald Trump is “two or three moves ahead” of Volodymyr Zelensky following their heated discussion on Friday.

He told LBC Radio: “I think President Zelensky was very unwise to tell the Americans what would happen to them if they didn’t back him, I think it was unwise. Yeah, sure, Vance and Trump bit back. But I think, in diplomatic terms, I think Zelensky played it very badly.
“But, you know what, with these negotiations, he’s [Trump] always two or three moves ahead of everybody else, and that’s why to comment constantly on the latest thing Trump has said or done is ludicrous. The old saying about taking him seriously, but not literally, is true.”
When asked if a peace deal is closer because of the meeting, the Clacton MP said: “Very much so, because Zelensky has had to wake up and smell the coffee.”
