Israeli forces have intensified their lethal assault on Gaza, with at least 10 people killed in an attack on Nuseirat refugee camp.

Gaza City‘s Zeitoun and the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhoods were targeted, resulting in the deaths of another ten more Palestinians, including children.

The Awda Hospital, which received the bodies, confirmed the toll and said another 13 people were wounded. Hospital records show that the dead included a mother, her child, and her five siblings.

Another strike on a home in Gaza City killed several people, including a woman and two children, according to the Civil Defense, first responders reported.

This comes as a missile launched by Yemen’s Houthis struck central Israel on Sunday in a daring assault on the country.

While no direct casualties were reported from the strike it has heightened regional tensions as the Gaza conflict nears its one-year mark.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed the Iran-backed Houthis would pay a “heavy price” for the attack, which started a fire and caused some damage near Tel Aviv.

Palestinian group Hamas praised the missile launch, vowing that Israel “will not enjoy security unless it ceases its brutal aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip”.

Israeli medics said several people were slightly injured while “on their way to shelters” as sirens sounded.
