Uruguay’s center-left has secured a victory in this year’s presidential election with opposition candidate Yamandu Orsi securing 49.3% of the votes compared to 46.4% for conservative candidate Alvaro Delgado, official results showed on Sunday.
With 87% of the vote counted, Uruguay’s president and opposition conceded the victory to Orsi while expressing goodwill for the transition.
