As the elites identified with the regime try to flee, more and more cities are falling into the hands of rebel organizations, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Shams. These groups are preparing to surround the capital, Damascus, after successfully moving toward it from both the east and the south. All this has happened in the span of only one week.
