From the scorching sands of the Gobi Desert to the lush jungles of Borneo, Asia will showcase the breathtaking variety of environments that make the continent so unique.

It took four years to get the footage for the seven episodes which will make up Asia, each of them an hour long.

Show bosses have used cutting edge filming techniques to capture Asian wildlife in its natural habitat.

In the Himalayan foothills, audiences will encounter elusive red pandas in their home environment.

In Nepal, cameras will capture the amusing courtship ritual of rhinos as they play a peculiar game of “kiss chase”.

High in the Tibetan Plateau, a lone wolf will be seen pursuing a herd of antelope, offering a rare glimpse into survival in one of the harshest areas on earth.

Meanwhile, in Sri Lanka, elephants will be shown halting buses on highways to beg for food from passengers.

Other filming locations include the oldest and deepest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Baikal, the taiga forest in northern Russia, and the Lut Desert in Iran.

The series will also delve into bustling Asian cities like Tokyo, Bangkok, and Hanoi to contrast the wildlife with modern urban spaces.

Viewers will also get a chance to see the complex conservation challenges that different areas in Asia are faced with, and meet local heroes spearheading movements to preserve these natural wonders.

Sir David Attenborough’s narration will of course guide audiences through this exploration of Asia.
