DUBAI, February 25. /TASS/. Those who support holding talks with the US should look at the fate of Ukraine, which sought Washington’s assistance and is now heavily indebted, Advisor to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Hossein Taeb said.
“Today, those who paint a rosy picture of negotiations with the US must focus on the situation in Ukraine. Ukrainians sought protection from the US and today, despite thousands of casualties and the devastated infrastructure, consider themselves to be indebted to the United States,” the ISNA news agency quoted him as saying.
According to the IRGC commander’s advisor, Washington has long aimed to weaken Iran and resistance forces in the Middle East by 2024, conducting hybrid wars, and “then to arm Ukraine to attack Russia and Taiwan to attack China.”
On February 7, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that talks with the US were out of the question due to its past deception: Washington signed a nuclear deal in 2015, failed to honor it, kept anti-Iranian sanctions in place, and unilaterally terminated the agreement in 2018.
