The Israel Defense Forces on Thursday revealed extensive details about a hair-raising operation of the air force’s Shaldag reconnaissance unit in northern Syria last September, when it blew up a factory that manufactured advanced missiles which Iran was about to activate, together with the regime of Bashar Assad. Planned over a lengthy period, the operation attests to Israel’s constantly improving ability to utilize special forces for highly complex actions far from the country’s borders.
